Buddha’s Hand Citron

This unusual variation of the citron was selected and maintained by monks, possibly moving from India into Asia over a long time. The large fruits flare out into octopus like fingers, rather strange! Recently Ive read they are edible raw but I have no fruits at present to try.
(Citrons are one on the three citrus species from which all the rest have been bred. Pomeloes and Mandarins are the other originals.)
